The Remarkable Power of Sharing

The quotation above clearly describes what happened in PwC (People who Care), an event done by all June batch VEs. After two month preparation, the D-day finally came. On August 06, 2011 we went to a small orphanage, named “Darus Salam”. It was located in Ampera, South Jakarta. Some of us went directly to that place, while the others gathered firstly at the office. Luckily, we could arrive there on time without being caught in traffic jam. We had to pass through the small aisle to reach the place. We gathered in small mosque because the special building for orphanage is still under construction due to not having enough fund. When we arrived, we had to wait the children who were having Ashar. The event officially started at 15:00 pm by hearing the welcoming greetings from the head of orphanage. Then, the VE Project officers lead the event and greeted approximately 45 children, started from toddlers to teenagers. After that, we watched film titled “Denias: Senandung di Atas Awan” for approximately 109 minutes. During the film screening, it seemed all children watched it seriously and really enjoyed it very much. They often laughed when there were funny scenes. Finally, the film ended several minutes before breaking fast time, so we distributed snack and jelly ice for them. Soon after that, they had maghrib together with all June batch VEs who were also Moslems. Later, we had dinner together. During the dinner, the event section gave several questions related to the film and Islam. They were very enthusiastic to answer all questions. For those who could answer correctly, were given gifts. As the finishing part at 19:00 pm, we gave souvenirs for all children and took pictures with them. We also gave donation in form of money, books, dolls, and used clothes. We really thanked them for being a part of our project on that day. After all, it was such a remarkable experience to share the happiness together with them. Seeing their smiles is our own pleasure. They all are young generations who will be great assets for Indonesia’s future, so it is our responsibilities, to give love and care wholeheartedly. We hope this event will be done continuously, as a part of our contribution to society. A small contribution like this could create a better world to live in, we believe!

My Unique Friend Called “ Gaby”

Sometimes we don’t know what is going to happen in the future unless we face it. Our first meeting happened deliberately, and I think it’s such a rare experience. I met her during my internship in one of big international accounting firms. At first, I didn’t really like her style because she made me scared. I thought she was a moody person and it looked like she was sarcastic to every new people whom she met for the first time (a.k.a not friendly). But what I have described previously are just first impressions about Gaby. What happened next was really surprising. Both of us were set in the same group, so we could meet frequently. What made me feel surprised is her patience. She always becomes a victim of her friends’ naughtiness. Not to mention who always makes funny jokes about her, but almost every one likes poking fun at her (now I’m also one of them, peace :D). And what her reaction is JAWARA!:)She is never angry and always laughs in responding our cruel jokes. Seeing her patience makes me nominate her as “the most unique person in the world”. Maybe if we could compare it to world’s population, you just can meet 1 type like Gaby from 1000 species provided. What a scarce thing! Now we jump over to her life. It is also unique. After chatting with her, I just knew that her name should be Gabriella Tiffany. Because of the structure of keyboard letter B and V which are located side by side, then human error appeared, as a result, the officer typed her born letter as “Gavriella”. What a pity! She told that story to us and yes it spontaneously made us laugh. Another interesting thing is I have the same favorite figure like she is, yes that is Spongebob Squarepants! Lala…while I love Spongebob more than Patrick, she is in contrast. Overall, I could say that she is a very unique person. She has taught me good life lesson which is: "being patience could touch everyone’s heart and build a stronger friendship afterwards".Thanks for being my friend. I hope our friendship can last forever like what Spongebob and Patrick do although in the near future we can’t meet face to face. Surely, we will be best friends forever, I promise.

That simple quotation gives me a deeper meaning about what friendship really is. I am so grateful that I have lots of great friends, those who are always there to be my guide when I am lost and cannot think clearly what I should do. Finding best friends is difficult, but once you have found yours then it really makes your life more complete. I love making new friends because I think that by sharing my story whether it is happiness or sadness it will ease my pain and make me more understand how actually real life is. A good friend may not always meet you everyday but everytime you have chat or discussion you will feel that you are close and honest to each other. Nothing should be covered. Although honesty is something hard to be told because you do not want to hurt anyone or in order to keep your well-maintained relationship with your buddies, I really appreciate those who are always trying to be honest. They are really great people who have something different. From my point of view, friendship that is filled up with honesty is the best thing you can create from friendship. Someone who is brave enough to say their limitations must be highly appreciated. We are ordinary humanbeings having own weaknesses and strenghts. That is why, here, together as friends, my little dream is to build "remarkable friendship" where I can find my treasure there, a long term unvaluable asset for my future ahead. Thanks a lot friends for making my life much more colorful and yet insightful. We could be positive element for others by doing the best in everyday's life. Share your life stories and be a light for everyone you meet, especially your best friends! Good luck all my extraordinary friends *__* You have taught many things I cannot get from formal school about what life itself and how precisely wonderful my life is.

LOVE YOURSELF JUST THE WAY YOU ARE !

To love yourself is the first important thing that might become the good starting point in enjoying lives every day. We do have to realize the uniqueness within us. It differs us from others, that's why I always think myself is the greatest gift God's given for me and people surrounding me, especially my family. I hope a little bit of my thought coming next could give new inspiration to love yourself specifically and your whole life generally. When I was still in Senior High School, I started my class at 7 am. I had to take a short walk for approximately 5 minutes. I passed a narrow aisle near my school and it was quite quiet in the morning, only a few people especially those great mommies who just went to the Petak Sembilan traditional market appearing in front of my eyes at a glimpse. I like the ambience in the morning which is still fresh and undeliberately could give a powerful energy especially for myself. It is not just related to the physical additional power but precisely for my spiritual life. I was so thankful that I could wake up in the early morning which means God still gives me a chance for having a new day and will always be like that forever because He gives unconditional L.O.V.E. for all human beings without exception. Firstly, I love myself for the way I am which are my health, safeness, luckiness, and many mores, then I look at a great nature around formed in morning dew, singing of birds, and refreshing air with less pollution. Then I realized how beautiful the nature around me is and that pushes me to keep it as it was created for the first time. So, in order to make a balance life, you have to LOVE your LIFE by making an intimate frequent CONVERSATION with GOD, our Creator whereas at the same time you should show your LOVE to the OTHER GOD'S CREATION by taking part in active NATURE CONSERVATION. It is a very great deal that I am still trying to make it better everyday, hoping it could be perfect one day. Could I make it? Time would answer it and I am running out of time though ^^

DIFFERENCE MAKES RICHNESS

For most people a happy life defined as the condition where prosperity in the form of material need (money) is on hand. Sometimes, I think that not all perspectives held by majority are absolutely true. Yeah, let’s take a look at the example happened in the reality, if all people around the world, have the same point of view, this world will not exist and go well until now. All famous inventors like Albert Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, etc could do something phenomenal because of having another thinking, an unique consideration and response about something. I really believe that they all felt uncomfortable with all those events happened in that time. They had another alternatives to solve problems and as a result, they did experiments needed in order to prove that their “different” point of views were actually true. It was not easy to change major perspective adopted by most people in the world. It needed enormous efforts and the most important thing to be red penciled, they all have a high perseverance. I am sure that they did experiments many times, not only once in a life time, if they don’t have high perseverance, it will not be any electric light bulb and the relativity formula which gave a lot of contribution for the world transformation. This awareness brings me to have a unique idea that will be my own worth asset for my future. My suggestion for all people in this world, my friends, my families, and anyone read this blog, is not to be afraid with your own perspective although it is totally different with others, just stay calm, and believe that your difference will make a great contribution for this world, yeah…….

” A Better World. A better transformation . A better people involved”.

World needs us, as the young generation to make changes. If we only stay in the same track , in our comfort zone and follow our predecessor, we cannot overcome everychange happened around us, even in front of our eyes and affect directly to our existence. Let’s make changes and be the next Einstein! I also hope that it will happen to me….Good luck for all of you, friends!….
