"Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself."
-John Dewey-
I do really believe that quotation will give many different perceptions for every person. For me, it is actually related to my current condition now according to what had happened to me in these several days. I am still a college student, who just finished the third semester and by Feb 15, 2010 I'll be entering the forth semester of my campus life. I've been thinking about how I will bring my education in the next two years. I started my first education about 15 years ago and surely, many lessons that I have got from several formal private schools, actually it is only two schools because I didn't move to another school since Elementary until Senior High school. I love to be a part of that school though ^^. But, the thing that will always come over into my mind is this question: "Why should I continue my education into the highest point of mine?" Probably, it is enough for me to hold a bachelor degree, so I can have a good job connected to my major. But, my parents always say that if I have a chance for continuing my study, I must take it. Feeling tired and bored sometimes is the hindrance for me to stop thinking about future education. I just want to focus on what I am doing now. But, I try to think in a different way. I feel that the education system in campus is totally different from senior high. it enables me to explore my own interest and keep focusing on it, while also paying attention to the others, such as the subjects which are not my favorites and also social life. I think that if I managed all of them, so as they are still on the right track, I would be a successful person one day. For me, success is an option, so does life. I have to be well-prepared every time by spending my leisure time in useful activities. I am sometimes tempted to spend many hours, doing useless things, but it's normal. Life has taught me how to appreciate life itself. I am grateful for having a very wonderful family, good friends, and many people whom I have met during my life journey. They have taught me how to be a better person in the way of behaving politely in front of public, thinking more mature, and deciding important choices that will determine my own future. I have got an essential point about life itself. To simplify, I can conclude it in a brief statement: we all are given the same thing which is 24 hours in a day, but how to spend it is totally different from one to others. For 2010's resolution, I want to make every second in every hour on every day in every month in this year as the valuable ones. I want to make all my dreams come true. I believe that every little thing which is done with passion will be big thing someday! Thanks for my life who has become the best teacher ever and all people involved in it ^_^. To conclude, both formal and informal education are important for me, surely they serve me with different materials and exams. While the formal education gave me theoretical and logical knowledge, the informal education which is called bad and good experiences sometimes gave me such precious unexpected result. Formal education which is blended with informal education and the doers who can combine them well, so as to create masterpieces will be such great life masters. I wish I could be one of them one day in the future ahead.
.........All the best for us in 2010......
